KFM’s DJ Slim is set to drop a new album “Interesting Young men” on his birthday; 11th December, 2013.
The album which has ten tracks is a fully rap album.
The National best Hiplife DJ who featured on KFM’s Music Countdown told programme host Kwame Scientific the songs are to celebrate rap music; a music genre he considers special.
DJ Slim hinted of his desire to win another award: Best Mixtape DJ. To that end, he is putting together a mixtape that features several musicians including Flowking Stone of Bradaz fame, Kabum, Guru, Gasmilla, Andy Dosty, and Johnny Blaze among others.
He advises artistes to know what they want before they hit the studio. He emphasized the need to decide whether they want to make a hit song or a timeless song, adding that a hit song might fizzle out after a short time whiles a timeless song may not generate as much sensation but will continue to survive over a long period.
He says hit songs comprise good lyrics, nice instrumentals, wonderful hooks and originality.
