Nature, music, scandal, movies and more coming up on DStv!

DStv viewers across Africa can tune in to more exciting viewing from nature, drama, music and movies to history. Here are some highlights:

America The Wild III: Wolverine King: Bracing himself against the fierce elements in the frozen wilds of Alaska and British Columbia, Casey Anderson finds himself on his own “mission impossible”. DStv audiences can tune into National Geographic Wild on Tuesday 17 April 2012 at 18:00 CAT to watch him on a quest to find and film an elusive animal whose legend is almost larger than life, the Wolverine. Casey has the ability to forge a unique face-to-face bond with a captive-raised Wolverine named Jasper in Southeast Alaska. Pitting his own safety against the Wolverine’s ferocious reputation, Casey will get up-close and personal with Jasper to examine the key anatomical features of the Wolverine and assess their natural behaviours.

Spotlight: BET presents this half-hour series that invites celebrities and some of the biggest stars to step in to BET’s Spotlight where they share their lives through words and music. They share their secrets of success, the highs and lows of their careers in the limelight and more of what they are doing outside away from the flashing cameras. Some of the celebrities featured include Nigerian musicians M.I. and Ice Prince. You can watch it on Fridays at 20:00 CAT.

Rhythm City: Hermanus warns Gail that Collins is not to be trusted and gives her a gun to protect herself. Gail shrugs off his warning and invites Colin to dinner. She says Collins finds it difficult to translate his feelings for her into real intimacy. Collins hits back at her saying that the rapist appears to be developing a close relationship with her. Meanwhile Lucilla comes to see Miles after he’s discharged from hospital. He apologises for his behaviour and promises to stop trying to get back at her for the things she’s done. Lucilla then agrees to do the same but the guilt of sleeping with S’bu is still weighing heavily on her mind and almost confesses. Will she reveal the truth? Find out on weekdays at 18:30 CAT.

Scandal!: A shocked Tino realises that Erin has been right all along about Shakira trying to seduce him. Shakira looks set to be sent to a psychiatric institution but gets vital information she can use to devastating effect. She reveals the information to Tino and shakes him to his very core. What can the information be about? Eddie plans to make a difference in the life of the albino artist Menzi by organising an art exhibition. But the event hits a snag due to Eddie’s hatred for Daniel. Meanwhile Mmadika is astounded when Morongwe suddenly calls off the family therapy sessions. Watch it on weekdays at 19:30 CAT.

Leading Women: This is a new series which profiles some of the most influential women from across the globe. Over the course of the next year, the programme promises to meet remarkable professionals from a variety of fields, including business, the arts, sport and culture. Leading Women speaks to fashion designer Carolina Herrera, who explains how she has made her mark in the world of fashion, defining elegance for more than 30 years. The show also introduces Marvell Technology Group co-founder, Weili Dai. A self-proclaimed ‘geek’, Dai is one of the most unconventional top executives in her field, and yet embodies what it means to make it ‘big in America’, in one of the most male-dominated industries in the world. Watch it on Saturday 21 April at 13:30 CAT and Sunday 22 April at 20:30 CAT.

Open Court: This month’s host and former tennis champion Pat Cash meets some of the leading tennis talent the West Coast has to offer. Fourteen-time Grand Slam winner, Pete Sampras sits down with Cash for a rare one-to-one interview. The former player reveals who he thinks will win the French Open and also challenges Cash on the court and demonstrates the signature shots that won him so many titles. The next stop is a catch up with Michael Chang, the 1989 French Open Champion where he meets the tennis star’s wife and baby daughter as they celebrate Michael’s 40th birthday. The show also travels to San Diego, where Mark Philippoussis, the two-time grand slam finalist has taken up surfing. Watch it on Sunday 1 April at 18:30, Saturday 21 April at 18:30 and 22 April 09:30 and 23:00 CAT.

Piers Morgan Tonight: This nightly CNN show has recently seen guests as varied as LL Cool J, Rosie O’Donnell, Michael J, Fox, Ricky Gervais, Joan Rivers, Anjelica Huston and Magic Johnson. The in-depth, personality-driven programme continues throughout April as Piers’ inimitable style uncovers fascinating details about his newsmaker guests. Tune in Mondays to Fridays at 21:00 CAT.
