Budding Spoken Word artist, Nenebi, drops his second single today, May 9th, 2013. No Explanation is the second official single from his first album, Scar on My Face. It features vocal from MTN Hitmaker finalist, Jackie Morris, who also featured on the poet’s first single, Just Tell Me.
The poem-song is performed over a sole piano-beat produced by upcoming producer, Camaflaj.
The journalist-turned-poet made his appearance on the poetry scene professionally on January 7th, 2013 when he posted a politically-charged poem titled, Woyome Killed Mills on his SoundCloud page.
He has since released four poems including a humorous piece ECG Love and a Whitney Houston/Frank Ocean-sampled, Every Woman. He later released Just Tell Me as the first single from his upcoming debut album, Scar on My Face.
“It is not really a poetry album, it is an art album. We used various musical elements in producing the poems and it also has other art forms featured on there like drama and essay-reading plus we took the pain to shoot the creative and engaging album cover ever shot in Ghana. My team, Nothing but Truth (N.dot.T), teamed up with Lace-Up Media (who directed Eazzy’s Take it Easy video) to shoot that”, Nenebi said in a statement.
Hip hop, soul music, highlife, reggae, traditional talking drums, rock, dub step and Chinese music are some of the music forms on the album.
Scar on My Face will hit the stores on Monday, August 12th, 2013.
