Highlife artiste, Henry De-Mensah aka Nana Quame has said he hates to take someone’s glory when he honestly knows he played no meaningful role in ensuring the success of an endeavour.

According to him, he likes to publicly appreciate the efforts of peoples hard work rather than trying to steal their glory.

Speaking with Kojo Preko Dankwa on Kasapa Entertainment on Kasapa 102.5FM, Nana was pissed-off on why people were at war with him for acknowledging Nero X as the main brain behind his (Nana) new single ‘Oko Meho’.

According to Nana, many criticized him for praising Nero X but he knows the young talented artiste deserves all the praise and encouragement.

“Ghanaians need to look at Nero X very carefully, it’s something we are closing our eyes to but he is the future of Ghana music.

“Why should I have to take Nero X’s credit if he wrote and composed the song, God knows why he gave him the song and it wouldn’t change the brand Nana Quame,” he added.

He disclosed that he nearly give up on music because Ghanaians failed to support indigenous music.

“I almost stopped doing music but Kwabena Kwabena’s ‘Adult music’ brought me back onto music scene. Even our own DJs promoted other genre of music than higlife but Kwabena Kwabena remained strong and made highlife music appealing to Ghanaians.”

Nana Quame’s latest single ‘Oko Meho’ featuring Nero X is enjoying massive air play after some few days of release.
