Masaany meets with DrummaKid and team to record
Masaany may have been quiet for a little while, but the moment you search his name on Google or YouTube, it is easy to realize that he is no stranger to Ghanaian music.
From leading a massive cult following in Tema to calming the Shatta-Samini beef at its peak with the audio and video release for "Mano pe Asem", Masaany has lived up to the tag, "Dancehall Messiah".
Paying attention to the ability of music to unite and the need for quality content may have worked for Masaany, as he recently caught the attention of Netherlands based artiste, Drumma kid.
Speaking about making two records with Masaany on his trip to Ghana, Drumma Kid admitted that the Ghanaian act went outside his comfort zone to create something different from reggae and dancehall.
"Masaany is very energetic as an artist. We set a studio up in my hotel and our individual contributions to the records we made, created a whole different style and I intend to come back and make a lot of new music with him", said Drumma kid, before opening up on drawing influence from Daddy Lumba, Reggie Rockstone and other elements of Ghanaian Music.
Speaking about what he had learnt from working with Masaany, the artiste from Netherlands iterated, "The number one thing I've learnt, is that everything is about the feel. They breathe music over here, so it's not very hard to come up with a hook or come up with a verse; everything just flows".
"That can definitely be possible", Drumma kid replied, when asked about the possibility of performing with Masaany on tour in Netherlands. He further stated, "This is a start of something new, something great and I'm a bit sad that I've got to leave so soon"
This appeared to be no coincidence, as a source from Masaany's team revealed, that "The Hague Africa" are in talks to have Masaany perform to a diverse crowd at the next event in Holland.
When hailing the quality Ghanaian music has become known for, Drumma kid acknowledged names like Joey B and also expressed interest in working with other artistes from the continent, like Wizkid and Shatta Wale.
The thrill of collaborations are always a whirlwind feeling, as different dots connect from across the world to make great musical notes and music fans can't wait to hear Masaany from Ghana and Drumma Kid from Netherlands on revolutionary records
