Accra, Oct. 15, GNA - A French learning programme dubbed; "Bonjour Ghana," to be screened on GTV was launched on Wednesday in Accra by Kama Productions, a documentary and film production organisation.

The programme, which is supported by the French Embassy and the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), would be shown on "Children's Channel", a children's variety programme aired on GTV o Saturdays.

Speaking at the launch, Mr Godfred Quansah, Director of Kama Productions, said the main aim of the initiative was to inculcate the learning of French into Ghanaian children at an early age.

He said the programme would seek to educate children about some of the good elements in French culture and mentioned entertainment, games and drama as some of the segments in the programme.

Mr Quansah said so far six episodes had been produced and appealed to the public to support the programme since it was cost intensive as far as production was concerned.

Mr Bernard Botte, a representative of the French Embassy, said

the Embassy was glad to be associated with the programme, adding

that, the Embassy had employed the services of a British

Broadcasting Corporation official to conduct research into how

effectively French could be taught in the country. Madam Diana Ammo, Head of Programme of GBC, praised

Kama Productions for the initiative.
