Members of the newly elected Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) board are set to undergo a two day in-service orientation.

The Former Interim administrator of GHAMRO, Abraham Nuetey Adjetey who made this revelation on Hitz FM’s Entertainment news said during the orientation, necessary accounts will also be handed over to them after his outfit has been given permission by the court.

Asked whether he had confidence in the new boards credibility and accountability, he said “I have hundred percent confidence and it’s not only about the personalities in place but it is about what has gone on before and I believe that this new board knows best and they will up to the task.

“Because the issues have been laid out there, they are not coming out of the cold as if they were from the moon not knowing anything. They know their colleagues and the media is watching them as well” he noted.

The Former Interim administrator further indicated that “Immediately the votes were counted and the new board sworn in, I personally made a clear intention to them that my time has ended and so I’m giving over the mantel to them; I’m only waiting for the receiver managers to discharge me.

“They have asked me to hold on so that this process can be completed and later come home after the inauguration of the newly elected management board on Friday February 27th to announce at a meeting the way forward”, he added.

Agya Abraham as he is affectionately called also noted that, “whether in or out, I’ll be watching and we will come back to them for accountability” he stated.

GHAMRO held its first ever election on Wednesday February 11 at the Catholic Institute of Business and Technology (CIBT) in its 25-year history as the only music royalty collection society in Ghana.
