New TV stations to promote indigenous talents

Accra, Dec. 18, GNA - Celebrity TV Network and FM stations, new entrants into the Ghanaian entertainment industry on Thursday announced plans to train up-and- coming artistes in the arts and entertainment industry to make them competitive on both local and international markets.

The network, which starts transmission early next year, was committed to developing the skilled businessman and the unskilled as a way of improving indigenous TV and Film contents. Mr. Michael Hammond, Chief Executive Officer, said the medium would be used to redefine the values of Ghanaian celebrities as well as moulding new ones.

He said the company was collaborating technically with other TV and radio stations globally to ensure effective work. Mr. Hammond said the company would again develop strategic relationship with other key professionals who would provide a full range technical service and investment in the complex business environment. Nii Odoi Mensah, President of the Ghana Actors Guild urged Ghanaians to promote made in Ghana movies and other entertainment products as against foreign ones to develop the industry.
