A member of hiplife duo Keche, Andrew Kofi Cudjoe, has said most Ghanaian musicians are swerving DJs because they feel these DJs and presenters will ask them for money.
Andrew Keche, who was speaking on Accra-based Onua 95.1FM’s entertainment talk show Anigye Mmre, however, called for the need for Ghanaian musicians to appreciate DJs for what they do for them.
“I and my colleague Joshua will sometimes buy watches and other things and present it as gifts to some DJs and presenters just to appreciate what they are doing.”
Andrew, who was been interviewed by Christian Agyei Frimpong, went on to reveal that some Nigerian artistes come to Ghana to promote their songs. “I heard they have WhatsApp groups with some of our DJs,” he revealed.
“[They] have recruited many radio DJs in Ghana, they communicate with them, come have dinner with them, appreciate them with little cash but Ghanaian artistes are not doing that. We are not doing something right and this industry is sick we need paracetamol.”
Keche has signed on GB Records as a brand new mid-tempo jam titled Next Level and produced by Kaywa on the instrumentation.
