Mr. Abasifreke, in collaboration with Beatisblaak Studio, has set a remarkable new world record after hosting a marathon recording session lasting 95 hours and 59 minutes.

The session, which began on February 10, 2024, was just shy of four full days and surpassed the previous record of 40 hours and 19 minutes set in Nigeria in 2022.

The ambitious event aimed to provide a platform for emerging musical talents, featuring both singers and rappers.

Mr. Abasifreke, a passionate music producer, expressed his motivation for the project, saying, “I wanted to set a world record as a music producer while offering opportunities to upcoming artistes. Seeing the happiness on their faces and their eagerness to record made each day filled with new music and positive vibes.”

During the session, participants were allowed five minutes of rest for every hour of recording.

Although the artistes rotated in and out of the studio, Mr. Abasifreke remained engaged throughout, using his breaks to manage the technical aspects of the record attempt.

He emphasised that he did not rely on caffeine to stay awake but instead focused on ensuring everything ran smoothly.

“One of the biggest challenges was keeping the studio’s power running. Electricity was unpredictable, and our data subscriptions slowed due to the number of people using the Wi-Fi. We initially aimed for 100 hours, but the timer stopped at 95 hours and 59 minutes,” he explained.

Despite the hurdles, Mr. Abasifreke reflected on the experience with joy and satisfaction.

“It’s a dream come true, and I’m still surprised and happy. It was all worth it.”

This record-breaking session highlights Nigeria’s growing prominence in the global music scene, as local talents continue to push boundaries and achieve extraordinary feats.
