Nino underplays Ghanaian musicians, except Kojo Antwi

Nino, on ETV Midnight Celebrity Show last Friday indicated that he finds no artiste in Ghana very competent to collaborate with. He disclosed the controversial statement saying; “the only musician in Ghana I would love to work with is Kojo Antwi.”

After Nino performed an Opera live On Set, Laila (the host) was left with no option than to change her perception about the beautiful elements of Opera and the artist in front of her. She became a lover of Opera immediately Nino ended the song.

This is where the controversy started; Laila asked Nino which artist from Ghana he would love to work with and to the surprise of many viewers, Nino emphatically stated that, “the only musician in Ghana I would love to work with is Kojo Antwi.”

It also came to the fore that Nino had performed on one of Kojo Antwi's Concert earlier this year and hopes to perform again with him before the year ends. Laila further on asked Nino why he is known to be doing his own kind of music genre ‘Nuslam’ but not the normal genres like Hiplife, Highlife etc and Nino made it clear that he is not creating anything new from the clouds but rather, he is rejuvenating the dormant tunes in his own way to make mellifluous melodies.

A lot of viewers were quiet surprise about how Nino perceives Music after he boldly said that he doesn’t sing or perform for the listeners but rather to satisfy his own self.

Nino has got lot under his sleeves and Ghana is patiently waiting for him to live up to expectation since he’s getting thumbs up from folks and cronies alike.
