Nkoranza prepares for national cultural festival

Nkoranza (B/A), March 27, GNA - The Nkoranza District Directorate of Education has set up a seven member planning committee to ensure the successful organization of this year's Brong-Ahafo Inter-District Basic Schools cultural festival slated July this year at Nkoranza. The festival is meant to organize a team to represent the region at the national festival scheduled for August this year.

Members of the committee were: Mr James Appiah, District Cultural Officer, Mr Yaw Ntim Korsah, Assistant Director, Human Resource Management and Development, Mr Kwasi Djan, District School Health Education Programme Coordinator and Miss Agatha Osei, District Girls' Education Officer.


Other members included, Nana Adu Baffoe, Public Relations Officer, Mr Joseph Yeboah, District Education Coordinator, Vocational and Technical Education and Mr Frimpong Manso, a teacher at Nkoranza Preparatory 'A' Primary School. Mr Kwabena Agyemang-Badu, District Director of Education who inaugurated the committee, urged members to work as a team and come out with the necessary guidelines that would lead to the smooth organization and celebration of the festival.

He called on head teachers and head masters as well as all the cultural teachers in the various schools to prepare students who have the skills and knowledge in the various disciplines, to enable the district to organize a better troupe for the national event. Mr James Appiah, District Cultural Officer said participants would compete in choral music, dance, poetry recital, sight singing, drum language and exhibition.


Mr. Yaw Ntim Kosah, Chairman of the Committee, gave the assurance that members would perform to expectation and asked for God's blessings for the success of the event.
