Lynx Entertainment signee Eugene Marfo known publicly as Kuami Eugene has conferred the crown on Nigerian superstar Wizkid as one of the best musicians on the African continent.

The young musician believes the success of the 27-year-old singer real name Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogu cannot be underestimated so Ghanaians should give credit where it’s due. The ‘Angela’ hitmaker speaking on Celebrity Ride With Zionfelix show on Angel TV last Saturday opined that “he’s been the first African to do a lot of things”.

He added that Wizkid has also attained unimaginable success most of his colleagues on the continent have not achieved despite their efforts to match him. According to the singer who said on the show that he wants to be bigger than the “Holla At Ur Boy” hitmaker, Wizkid staged a sold-out concert no African has ever organised not long ago.

When asked if Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, R2bees are not doing well enough to be his target, Kuami Eugene replied that they are great artistes but Wizkid is exceptionally doing well. He posited that Wizkid was at the Grammys long before many Africans.

Giving reasons why he wants to be bigger than Wizkid but not any other Ghanaian artiste, Kuami Eugene disclosed that he wants to print a good legacy in the history of Ghanaian books. To him, he sees nothing wrong with wishing good for himself as a Ghanaian artiste who wants to attain higher heights than the ‘Ojuelegba’ hitmaker.
