Movie and music lovers witnessed a unique blend of performances at the University of Professional Studies (UPSA) auditorium during the just-ended “No Man of God” concert and book launch.

The night was filled with glitz, glamour, and a surreal musical atmosphere as patrons gathered to experience a special live cinematic premiere of the movie.

Among the standout moments of the evening was actress Nikki Samonas, who left the audience wanting more after delivering what many described as a performance reminiscent of Celine Dion.

The audience, unable to contain their excitement, rose to their feet to enjoy her captivating, electrifying performance.

Also speaking at the event, actor Adjetey Annang explained the rationale behind the book launch.

According to him, the book titled “No Man of God” was written to revive the culture of reading among Ghanaians, particularly students.

He noted that many young people have lost interest in reading, adding that adapting the play into a book form would help enhance literature studies, especially at the Senior High School level.

“We have young people—brilliant boys and girls—but they don’t read. They focus only on aesthetics and move on. One way we can help is by putting our movies into story form, and that’s the reason behind this initiative. It also supports their imaginative processes so they can make better choices than some of us have made.

“That’s why we’ve put this book together. We are also planning to tour some schools to give students a similar experience to what we had in our time, turning literature books into plays they can see physically, which makes interpretation easier. That’s one of the many reasons the team put this book together,” he said.

The movie, directed by Ampong Kwaky Kwakye, features top Ghanaian actors including Majid Michel, Adjetey Annang, Nikki Samonas, James Gardiner and others.
