Ghanaian actress Vicky Zugar has expressed her disappointment in the organizers of the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Chater House, for rewarding the late Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng popularly called Ebony after her death.

According to her the late Ebony was a good musician without any doubts but rewarding her after her death is needless.

Speaking on SVTV Africa, Vicky said organizers of awards must learn to appreciate the living rather than appreciating the dead since the living need more encouragement to excel.

When asked if Ebony deserved Artiste of the Year award Vicky said,"If she was alive I would have agreed, I don't think we should celebrate the dead more than the living."

"She is dead and gone, She was very good and talented but once she is dead, she is dead."

Vicky Zugah stressed that the accolade should have gone to a living musician to encourage and urge them on.

"The main purpose of awards is to encourage people to do better, so I don't see the need of awarding the dead," she said.
