No sex @ Miss Kwahu – Organisers

House of Boro, organizers of Miss Kwahu beauty pageant has taken exception to reports that Easter celebrations in that part of the country is only about sex activities.

Over the years, Easter celebrations at Kwahu have been shrouded with news reports on alleged sex activities which adversely affect the image and traditional values of the Kwahu people.

But, according to organizers of the pageant, talks about sex during the Easter celebrations have always being blown out of proportion.

“There is nothing in this world that you don’t get a negative side. Some people go to Kwahu to visit their parents, some just go there to have fun and celebrate with their grand fathers and mothers. But some people think that is a place where people can just go and do a whole lot of negative things.

If you go there this year, you will see that whatever they say is not true. It is normal when you go to a particular spot, you will get these people who do those things and so people don’t focus on the majority and rather focus on the small things that happen.

But that is not it. Kwahu is a beautiful place. The weather when you wake up in the morning is beautiful and all that. That’s why people go there. But you know, the media will pick the sex side and blow it,” said Kesiwah Adu-Adane, Managing Director of House of Boro at an organised soiree.

This year’s pageant is the 10th edition and it would come off at the Modark Royal Hotel on April 19, with the main objective to encourage children in the area to embrace education and also promote Ghanaian values among women in particular.

According to the organizers, audition for the pageant will take place at Z-Bar on January 31 and subsequent auditions at Kwahu, to grant ladies in the areas an opportunity to also participate.

The pageant is opened for smart, intelligent and articulate Kwahu ladies between the ages 18 and 30.
