Nollywood actress, Nse Ikpe-Etim has asked for peace and stability in her home city of Jos, Nigeria while in Accra over the weekend. Nse, who was in Ghana to receive a special honour at the City People Magazine's Accra Nite of Movie Excellence as a growing actress making waves in Nollywood, in her acceptance speech said: “I pray for peace in Jos”.

The sensational Nse Ikpe Etim is one of the new faces in Nigerian's movie industry. She captured the audience heart in the movie 'Reloaded' and followed it up with a reverting performance in 'Guilty Pleasure'. She hails from Akwa Ibom state in Nigeria, and by age 18 she knew she wanted to be an actress. She studied at the University of Calabar were she graduated with a degree in Theatre.

After receiving a plaque and a beautiful citation from City People Magazine, the beautiful actress said she was excited about the honour. She dedicated the award to the people who died in the much publicized atrocities in Jos. Hundreds of people were in March, killed in violent attacks in Jos, a city in Plateau State. Analysts say religious, ethnic, political and economic differences often contribute to the unrest, which has been affecting the region for almost a decade. But the situation also appears to be fuelled by rivalries between those who see themselves as 'indigenes' of the state and others who are described as 'settlers'.
