The North Legon Little Campus (NLLC) an international school located in the serene residential area of North Legon, held its colorful graduation ceremony at the school’s campus on Thursday, 4th July 2019.
The school which is headed by the executive chairman Mr. Douglas Djarbeng, was opened in 2007 and is accredited to run the Cambridge International curriculum at the three levels- pre-school, primary and secondary (Pre IGCSE, IGCSE and Advanced Level ).
In attendance were parents and guardians who witnessed fantastic displays by pupils and students in Pre-School, Primary and Secondary departments.
The theme for the occasion: “Developing the Potentials of Students to Face the Challenges of Tomorrow”, according to the Guest Speaker Prof. Clifford N.B Tagoe, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Legon, could not have been more appropriate for the times and perhaps for the years ahead.
Professor Tagoe said the security of pupils and students had come to the front banner given the recent cases of kidnapping and other crimes in the country. He however noted, that all is not doom and gloom in today’s world, as one can see positive developments such as technological advances and inventions of mobile phones, tablets and Ipads, which allows us to live easier lives. He also encouraged students to study hard as a few years from now robots will be competing with humans for their jobs.
He further encouraged teachers to identify the talents in the students and embrace purposeful teaching and learning to assist students to identify where they can perform best, based on their natural aptitude or inmate interest. The utmost aim is to seek to develop the total child.
Prof. Tagoe also advised the IGCSE graduates who would entering the sixth form to embrace Global Awareness, Financial and Entrepreneurial Literacy, Environmental Literacy etc., as well as Learning and Innnovation, Media and Technology, Life and Career Skills.
One spectacular event that took place was the Science and Maths Quiz by students in the Secondary Department. It was so keen that in the end the boys narrowly defeated their female counterparts by a few points.
Deserving pupils, students and teachers who have worked tirelessly were awarded for their efforts. The overall best student in the Cambridge Checkpoint One exams at Year 6, at which North Legon Little Campus continued to excel, went to Sally Fafa Dunu. The overall best student in Year 7 went to Winipiini Abariga. Overall best student in Year 8 went to Anais Roger. Nana Banyin Abbiw was the Valedictorian for the Cambridge IGCSE graduating class.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Academic Head of North Legon Little Campus, Miss Janet Anore, congratulated all the graduates, parents and teaching staff of the school for a collaborative effort in ensuring success. She awarded certificates to the graduating classes and encouraged the students to aim higher. To the graduating classes of 2019, she expressed her warmest wishes as that will begin a new era in their educational journey. She was hopeful that the IGCSE students would return for their Advanced Level in the School come this September.
