US-based Ghanaian pastor cum gospel musician Sonnie Badu has recounted the neglect he faced from his fellow gospel singers following a domestic accident he encountered in December 2023.

Sonnie Badu underwent surgery after injuring his foot when he slipped on the stairs between the garden and metal rails while cleaning and watering. He described the incident as life-threatening.

Despite his condition, Sonnie Badu, who hadn’t fully recovered, was seen performing at his Rhythms of Africa concert in Accra.

This even led to claims on social media that he was pretending and that his condition wasn't as serious as he had claimed.

Reflecting on his experience in a recent interview with Joy Prime, the Rockhill Chapel founder has lamented that not a single gospel musician checked on him during his ordeal.

“Not even a single one checked up on me. When I realised that not even a single gospel artist colleague or pastor would check up on me, that’s when I said even if I died, nobody cares; I have to rise up quickly,” he stated.

He added that he would have made an effort to check on others if the roles had been reversed.

“Personally, if I heard that somebody had gone through something or seen it, I would have been calling. I don’t care whether I’m cool with you or not. But not even one person did,” Sonnie Badu stated.

However, he noted that a few pastors, including the likes of Pastor Jerry Eze, Prophet Agyemang Prempeh of Ultimate Charismatic Centre, Apostle Amoako Atta of the Lord's Parliament Chapel International, and Pastor Kingsley, showed him love by reaching out to him on some social media platforms.

Sonnie Badu also expressed gratitude to God for healing mercies, adding that the fall was initially targeted at his head but then shifted to his leg, which could have resulted in death.
