UK-based Ghanaian actress and singer, Stephanie Benson, has cautioned her many social media followers against taking and implementing every piece of advice that is given to them.
According to her, people must be discerning enough to know who to seek advice from and whose advice they should accept.
She mentioned that it will be out of place for one to act on advice from someone who has not experienced the issue or challenge for which their counsel was sorted.
“When I go on social media and I see unmarried women giving advice on how to stay married, Men who have never had relationships talk about how to love a woman, and women, for instance, teach other women how to treat their men right when they have never had a long-term relationship.
“It saddens me because they are people who are listening. See, I say, use your discretion, use your commonsense,” Stephanie Benson said in a viral Instagram video.
The Ghanaian actress expressed concerns over the worrying phenomenon of everyone thinking they are experienced, expert, and knowledgeable on social media.
She said, “Social media nowadays is all screwed up with people who think they’ve lived when they have not even started living. Know their limitations and listen accordingly. Well, good luck to you.”
Stephanie Benson mentioned that every piece of information and counsel she puts out there is derived from years of experience and wisdom.
