Prophet Kofi Oduro, a staunch critic of the Akufo-Addo administration, has spoken following the party’s defeat in the 2024 elections.
In a recent church sermon, the founder of Alabaster International Ministries stated that God allowed the party’s defeat as a lesson for ignoring his voice and the cries of citizens during their tenure.
Prophet Oduro explained that the ruling party viewed those who attempted to correct or challenge them, including himself, as enemies.
Now, in opposition, prophet Oduro said, they would realise that those who criticised their 'poor governance' were not their enemies but had their best interests at heart.
“For almost eight years, this voice has been speaking, and you thought we were against you. I look at constituencies that have never been held by the NDC, but for the first time, they’ve been occupied by the NDC, this is God’s work,” he stated.
He continued, “When I was here trying to correct people, they thought I was the enemy. But now that you are in opposition, weeping in your homes, you will know I wasn’t the enemy. I had your best interest at heart.”
Prophet Kofi Oduro also urged the NPP to reflect on their actions and learn from their mistakes.
According to him, God is giving them a second chance to amend their wrongdoings.
“Sit down and reflect. What went wrong? Ask yourself: Was I too proud? Too arrogant? Too complacent? Too laid-back? Too pompous? God is giving you another chance,” Prophet Oduro emphasised.
He added, “If God is reprimanding and rebuking you, take it in good faith. Those he loves, he rebukes. I’ve seen prominent MPs who have lost their seats, God is speaking.”
Addressing John Dramani Mahama’s victory in the elections, the prophet responded to critics who questioned his landslide win.
“I hear people analysing and claiming he didn’t deserve the victory, but it’s God who decides,” Oduro said.
