Obiba Foundation - a non-governmental and non-political organization, which played a vital role during the June 3 disastrous flood and fire victims, has made donation to the Potters Village, an orphanage home located at Dodowa.

The CEO of Obiba Foundation, legendary Highlife musician, Obiba Sly Collins, who presented the items and cash to the hospital together with the Director of the Foundation, David Wincott, said he was introduced to the Potters Village by a friend and after investigating and getting to know about the good works management of the home is doing, decided to donate to the home.

He encouraged management of the home to keep on empowering vulnerable women and children to greatness through quality institutional care, education, and personal development to ensure harmonious living in homes and communities in Ghana.

According to Sly Collins, Obiba Foundation, which was established to help the youth and the less privileged to achieve their aims in life, is always looking forward to partnering with needy and deprived homes like the Potters Village.

He commended individuals and institutions who are involved in orphanage cares across the world. President of Potters Village, Dr. Jane Irina Adu, who received the items on behalf of the home, expressed gratitude to Obiba Foundation.

She said orphan care in the country is quite demanding, noting that most of the funds generated goes into feeding, health, clothing, among others. “We spend GH¢ 500 daily,” she disclosed. She told Sly Collins that he’s always welcome into the home with any kind of positive partnership he and his Obiba Foundation are ready to offer.
