Obour, one of the greatest rulers of Ghanaian Hiplife music since 2000, has dropped yet another big project on the Ghanaian music scene called Best Of The Lifes, Highlife meets Hiplife.
The project comes with a twelve-track album that features one of the greatest rulers of Ghanaian Highlife music since the 1970s, A.B Crentsil. Songs on the album include unbeatable Hiplife rendition of A.B Crentsil?s Adwoa, Juliana, Anyen and the controversial Moses, a song once banned in Ghana. The album is to be released worldwide on 1st December 2006.
Obour and A.B Crentsil will make history by hosting a TV serial called Best Of The Lives between January and March 2007.
There will also be a nationwide tour of Ghana, which will take the project to ten destinations. Obour?s new project is expected to break the divide between the Highlife and Hiplife genres of music and celebrate Ghanaian music worldwide.
All is set for a world tour of fifteen countries and four continents to sell Ghanaian music in countries where Ghanaian Highlife and Hiplife are still unknown. Obour returned from a European feasibility trip in October, after laying the groundwork for a smooth take-off of the world tour in June next year. It seems the days when Ghanaian music is only enjoyed by Ghanaians at home and abroad will soon be over as The Best Of The Lifes project promises to reach out to an entirely new set of audience worldwide.
