The now-turned Peace Ambassador, Bice Osei-Kuffour, known in music circles as Obour, has taken his 1 Ghana Peace Project to Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region. In Bolga, Obour visited the Bolga Naba’s palace to present copies of his peace album ‘President Obour’ to the Bolga Naba. Watch Video: 1 Ghana Peace Song by Obour

During a discussion which lasted for about half an hour, Obour thanked the Bolga Naba for the role he continually plays to ensure peace and unity in Bolga. He said “Bolga is in the center of two conflict zones and yet the people of Bolga remain non-violent and very peaceful”.

The Bolga Naba, on his part, told Obour that he is aware the youth face challenges of poverty and unemployment and as such violence and negative tendencies are behaviours he constantly advises the youth to shun. “Bolga is the Geneva of Ghana and the Upper East region in general was a very peaceful place until the recent violence in Bawku,” he stated.

The Bolga Naba congratulated Obour for his initiative and encouraged him to extend his Peace Campaign to the entire West African sub-region because the absence of conflict does not mean peace promotion must discontinue.

Obour’s visit to the Bolga Naba’s Palace was part of the activities lined up for the 1 Ghana Peace Tour in the Upper East Region. He would be addressing the youth of Navrongo and Bawku.

Obour would also meet the two factions in the Bawku conflict.

From the Upper East Region, Obour and his team would move to the Upper West and Northern Regions.
