Hip life artist Obrafour has launched his Platinum Project on indiscipline. His is a solo effort to assist the Vice President in his campaign for greater discipline in the country. The ceremony was also to source for funds to facilitate the smooth running of the Platinum Project. At the launch Obrafour gave his audience the opportunity to listen to what the whole project was about and what it set out to achieve.

The Platinum Project is divided into two main segments, which are The Lecture/Counselling Workshop and H.E.L.P Ghana initiative. The Lecture/Counselling Workshop has three principal objectives which are Drugs Combat, Promoting Disciplined Habits in Schools and To raise hundred million cedis for charity-H.E.L.P. There will be concerts which will serve as bait in drawing students to these workshops.

There are also plans to package the workshops into educative Television Serials which will be aired on two different television stations which will start in May. A segment of the Workshop will include an inter-schools debate where the three finalists will benefit from three Pentium III computers and ten million cedis donated by the Office of the Vice President.

The H.E.L.P Hiplife Education and Literacy Project)( Ghana initiative will be formed from proceeds that will be accrued from the concerts which will be held together with the lectures. H.E.L.P is an organisation that will use study technology to offer free tutorials and Scholarships to children. This is to support needy but brilliant students to help them further their education.

The Platinum Project?s main focus is second cycle institutions and there are plans to gather students from over 100 senior secondary schools on 22 campuses to discuss how to eliminate unruliness from schools. According to Obrafour after a thorough research into the viability of the project they should be able to reduce indiscipline in our schools to over 75 per cent.

The launch was well attended by the Press and other musicians who were there to support the musician and included the Special Assistant to the Vice President Mr Andrew Awuni who stood in the stead of the Vice President and Sheik I.C Quaye the Greater Accra Regional Minister who launched the Platinum Project.

Obrafour also took the opportunity to launch a special song he has composed for his campaign titled Nya Nteteepa meaning be Disciplined. To quote obrafour ?The song addresses everybody from the lazy Parliamentarian to the corrupt business administrator; from the morally incorrect student to the road unworthy driver and from the rapist to the lyrically provocative musician?. The song has been compiled into a CD and has other songs from Obrafour?s previous and current albums.

There were solidarity messages by some mediamen and musicians like Papa shee and Nana Quame who expressed their support for Obrafour?s cause. The Fund Sourcing which was done by Bola Ray of Top Radio (One couldn?t help but wonder why he always used Even As in his every sentence) saw contributions being made by some of the guests and organisations. It?s a pity though that for such an occasion there was no television coverage.
