Obrefuor Ba Is Among The Best

Thu, 22 Jul 2004 Source: ghanamusic.com

Obrefuor Ba It is no use reflecting on the past year?s faded glory now - check it out, people need progress. What you saw and heard in 2003 is not going to repeat itself because Obrefuor Ba also known as Charles K.A. Akumayi is ready to scuttle the music industry applecart.

He is a lyricist who paints pictures with words and complex phrases. People describe him as a dude who is sleek and whose wordplay is seasoned. Bola Ray of Joy FM ranks him as the next big thing to happen after Daasebre Gyamena in terms of writing and composing.

Obrefuor Ba was born to Mr. Kwasi Akumayi and the late Mrs. Esi Amoah on 15th July, 1984 at Agona Abodom in the Central Region. The young talented artiste had his elementary education at Laterbiokorshie Presbyterian School in 1991.

In 1998, Obrefuor Ba started exhibiting his talent by performing in schools and memorable occasions like Fun World.  No doubt he will dominate the music industry with his poetry some time to come. That is exactly how Daasebre Gyamena dropped onto the music scene.

This sensational artiste went through thick and thin before recording his debut album. Obrefuor Ba before meeting his current producer had to send his 17 made demos round in search of a producer for four years. All his efforts proved futile.

Later on, he was introduced to Mr. Lawrence Owusu (his current producer) by Kofi Nti. Mr. Lawrence Owusu was carried away by Obrefuor Ba?s tracks and then a deal was in the cooking. His producer during an interview with Ghana Music.Com said: ?I appreciate the talents of Obrefuor Ba. He is a good writer who makes brilliant music?.

Inspired by Daasebre Gyamena, Obrefuor Ba is set to go one rung higher in this year. On his current ten-song ?Twi Me Meko? album, Obrefuor Ba catapults himself to the top of the music scene with some songs like ?Twi Me Meko?, ?Adwemmone?, ?Okatakyie?, ?Cynthia Ahoofe?, ?Obra? and the likes.

?Twi Me Meko? featuring the prolific hiplife artiste by name Bandanna and Adinkra tells the story of a young man who is deeply in love with his wife. In this song, the young man tries to tell the wife who is not with him that he has missed her and she should try and come back because he cannot do anything without her. You should listen to it ?cos? it is making it big in Ghana.

?Cynthia Ahoofe? featuring Bandanna is similarly humorous. This song is about a girl by name Cynthia who is driving a young guy crazy due to her beauty. The young guy wants the girl badly in his life otherwise he cannot go on with his life. The unique thing is that he wrote this song at a tender age.

Following closely is a song he dedicated to all mothers especially to his late mum titled ?Maame Esi Amoah?.

Despite hardships, Obrefuor Ba will be one of the greatest entertainers Ghana has ever produced. His soothing songs and larger-than-life persona make him one of the best balladeers ever. He is going to set trends in the music industry with his blazing tracks.

He is the epitome of success- a songwriter, true lyricist and a composer. Obrefuor Ba is also considered one of the hardest working guys in showbiz. His fans consider him as one of the most stylish artistes, with amazing body language and matching vocal abilities.

The Agona Abodom native who has three brothers is about to go down in the books of history as one of the artistes who started doing music when they were kids. He will indeed have the world at his feet with his mega-album titled ?Twi Me Meko?.

After his sterling performance at a show which was held at Labadi Beach, he has left a mark in the hearts of Ghanaians. He is executively being produced by Mr. Lawrence Owusu of Larry Entertainment. All songs were recorded at Hush Hush Studios by King Cyrus.

Obrefuor Ba who remains upbeat about the future can be reached on the following numbers for more information- 233 24 4923404, 233 24 4923403 and 233 21 239333.

The CD copyright of his album is on sale to genuine producers and non-producers interested. This is a great chance for all you out there interested in buying the CD copyright. This is exclusive to only Ghana Music.Com because we bring you nothing but the best.
