Highlife musician Ofori Amponsah is joining the ranks of the Jesus Musicians and… it’s for real.

The 38-year old ‘Otoolege’ singer has revealed to Showbiz that he has not demonstrated enough gratitude to God and believes that the time to place his life back on the path of righteousness is now.

“I have not been fair to God. In the past, as a member of the Tesano Baptist church I could preach, pray continuously for hours and lead many people to Christ. That was when I was nobody but when I started making waves in showbiz, stopped all that, Ofori Amponsah said.

Sharing some of his life experiences, Ofori Amponsah, who got married to Linda for seven years and separated three years ago, said he went through hell after the separation. “I never thought such a thing could happen to me, we had to separate and I’m now taking care of the five children I raised with her,” Ofori Amponsah narrated.

He wouldn’t go further into the events about his separation but said he is now a single man searching for a strong Christian lady to replace his wife.

Ofori Amponsah said he has gone beyond singing secular. “Most of my songs were love songs which I believe delighted my fans but now the Lord is asking me to spread his word to his people.”

Asked how he expects Ghanaians to receive his new flavour, Ofori Amponsah said he didn’t really care whether Ghanaians will accept him or not – all that he was interested in now was to get the message across to his listeners.

He said he plans to do a documentary about his life talking about the challenges he went through and how far God has brought him. Currently, he said, he was putting finishing touches to his maiden gospel album.**
