Ofori Amponsah donate to flood victims

Ofori AmponsahA renowned Ghanaian musician, Nana Ofori Amponsah, in collaboration with Andrews Adjei Digital Company who deals in electronic gadgets, at the weekend presented 22 bags of maize to the Upper East Regional Coordinating Council to be distributed to the flood victims in the region.

In addition the musician and the company presented 2 million cedis cash to assist the victims.



Presenting the items, Nana Amponsah, said he was moved by the plight of the victims from the area, which was already economically deprived and had been hit by the flood and decided with Andrews Adjei Digital Company to present the bags of maize as their “widows mite” to the victims.



He indicated he and the Company would do everything possible to mobilize more relief items to the victims in the area and appealed to others to do so.



The Deputy Upper East Regional Minister, Mrs. Agnes Chegabatia who received the items commended them for the items and promised that they would be distributed equally and fairly to the victims.

In another development, JohnMore International Limited, a haulage Company brought in supplies of relief items to the Regional Coordinating Council.



The company had earlier on made an appeal to the general public and spirited organizations that it was prepared to be used as a central point to transport relief items to the flood victims freely. The items, including 86 packages of assorted used clothing’s and shoes, 10 bags of yellow corn, 350 bags of rice, 30 bags of sugar and 20 gallons of cooking oil were donated by the Knight of St John-Accra, St Theresa of Child of Jesus-Accra, C .C. T -Accra, and Kid Care International- Tema.



Mrs. Chigabatia commended the organisations and appealed to others to make similar donations since the people have still not received much to alleviate their plight.
