Hi? I say hi, yeah I am not in any friendly mood today and I don’t expect you to ask me why. But, why? Are you saying if you can’t see, you also cannot hear what is going on? Why is it that there are people in this country who are bent of destroying the very thing most of them were either part of molding some of these youngsters. I am just asking. Or that one too you vex…

Humm! Indeed human beings there are times that things go well for us and there are times things fall apart. I just can’t understand why some people have taken it upon themselves that they are untouchables and can decide the fate of others, Ebei! We are in this country when we all complained of the unemployment, armed robbery and all sorts of social vices among the youth but I don’t know by divine intervention Reggie Rockstone the godfather of Hiplife genre that took the nation by storm and as a results of his ingenuity he created employment avenue for the youth who otherwise could have been leading wayward life but find solace in music to make ends meet. But the very people who helped to propagate the good news some time ago have boomerang to “destroy” the very foundation they helped to lay.

Imagine how costive it is to record a full album and after that how to get a producer is a major headache. After these entire struggle and the artiste get hook up to a record label, the person to help promote the song will rather bizarre circumstance the song will not receive the needed air time it deserve and the song die a natural “death” yet somebody’s own could be played more than uncountable time. Asem be ba de bi.

Just recently I was listening to one radio station and I don’t know for more than half an hour one particular song was played over and over again more than what the ear can absorb as if the selector (this is not a DJ or Presenter) doesn’t have any other songs to play. In fact the   original version of the song, its accappela and was looped for a talk over for several minutes. I don’t have problems with any DJ who decides what to do with a particular song at a particular period but the situation where they tend to do this leaving the young talented artist to tier faith because there is nobody to fight for them. Reggie was after all right to say that some musicians pay their way out for their music to be heard.

Actually it is very painful for certain individuals to deprive creative people of their maximum benefits of their God given talent and creative work in the name of “DJship”. The fingers are all not equal, yes but….Kafoo Nso didi.  After manage-damage-repairs the same people will turn round to say that Hiplife is going down but when it comes to SHOWS it is the same boys who they look for. “..Who the cap fit, let them wear it…”
