Respected Ghanaian gospel singer, Ohemaa Mercy has condemned some suspected land guards who burnt down a popular Church around the Spintex Road in Accra.
The musician who is not happy about the deadly attack has described the criminal act as unGodly.
Earlier this week some unidentified thugs wielding guns and other offensive weapons stormed the Spintex branch of Believers Worship International Church, setting ablaze the 500 capacity auditorium.
The hoodlums also burnt down some musical instruments and other church properties running into millions of cedis.
This seems to have angered the Ghanaian gospel queen. Ohemaa Mercy who claimed the leader of the church, Rev. Abraham Lamptey as her father took to her Facebook page to reminded 'God of vengeance' that the criminals have attacked his house and Kingdom.
She also lamented the recent acts of indiscipline and lawlessness that is gradually gaining grounds in the Ghanaian society.
Ohemaa Mercy added that it's even becoming more dangerous when land guards and some faceless individuals could go to the extent of burning down an entire church with total disrespect to the country’s laws.
Meanwhile the head pastor of the church Rev. Lamptey has told the media the attack on his church has links with some land dispute.
He said the land on which the church is situated is a subject of litigation.
He added that the same group of gun men three weeks ago carried out a similar attack on his compound burning down a store house.
"The Church was summoned to court over a suit challenging the ownership of the land about seven months ago and the Church responded to the suit, kick starting a legal determination of the rightful owner of the land in court”, he narrated Rev. Lamptey added that “but to our surprise, as we were waiting on the court for further actions, these unidentified land guards came to burn properties belonging to the church to ashes".
