Okyeame Kwame Okyeame Kwame of the legendary Akyeame has released his debut solo album ? Bosheba ? as planned on their return from the States.
The group separated recently to exploit their individual talents to the benefit of their fans. Akyeame promised in a chat with Showbiz to reconnect later to do their duo thing.
Kwame?s contemporaries in the hiplife industry have described him as an ?All Time Lyricist and Show Master? due to the expertise he exhibits in his works, on his tracks, videos, on shows and during interviews.
There is no doubt that he could well pass for a lecturer in hiplife.
When it comes to hiplife in Ghana; Reggie Rockstone, Lord Kenya, Obrafuor and Akyeame are undoubtedly the leaders of the pack who have set the pace for others to follow.
Let?s us not lose sight of the fact that while together, Akyeame won the first ever Hiplife Award at the very first Ghana Music Awards and performed at Apollo Theatre, New York City, Constitution Hall, Washington, Stratford Rex, U.K and a host of other places.
Okyeame Kwame?s Debut solo album Bosheba tells his true life story into which he willingly delved to this reporter. ?My mother tried all means to abort me but to no avail. She was eventually advised by a pastor not to touch me because I was going to be a giant personality in Ghana.?
Today, Kwame is no doubt a Bosheba, the promised son, ruling in the world of hiplife.
The album spits out a brilliant presentation, with Kwame exhibiting his unique lyrical prowess. A personal favourite is Temasi (understand me or perhaps Kwame actually wants his woman to be patient with him). Kwame dedicates this one to pretty actress Nana Ama Macbrown, his fiancee.
The star-studded album features Daasebre Gyamena whose latest album has already found its way into the hearts of his uncountable fans.
There is also Morris, the babyface award winner and song writer, Kunta Kinte, Root I, the ragga ?Don Donner?, Nana Fynn, Swazzy B, She Stone and a couple of others.
Not surprising though, the album is receiving massive airplay especially in the Garden City. A senior member of Kwame?s management told this reporter that they have already bagged good money from the over the 30,000 copies sold even before its official release.
