Lawyers for Okyeame Kwame, has given a 72-hour ultimatum to veteran musician Gyedu Blay Ambolley to withdraw a 'defamatory statement' he made against the rapper or face them in court.

In a letter sighted by Ghanaweb, which was shared on Okyeame Kwame's Instagram page, the lawyers referred to a statement Ambolley made on 3FM during an interview with MzGee.

Gyedu Blay Ambolley claimed that former president of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bice Osei Kuffour (Obour), gave huge sums of money to a tune of Ghc50,000 to his close friends, one of which is Okyeame Kwame.

According to Okyeame Kwame's lawyers, these allegations are false. They mentioned that their client's reputation has therefore been tainted in the eyes of well-meaning Ghanaians.

The statement adds that Okyeame Kwame has built a reputation for himself over twenty years, which has won him international awards and admiration, and an allegation that seeks to ruin that reputation would not be tolerated.
