Old Simpson series to be aired on Cini Afrik TV

Old Simpson series, one of the numerous stories left behind by the late Ghanaian filmmaker, Ato Yanney Snr, will start airing on Cine Afrik TV.

The Series, as part of the earlier works of Ato Yanney Snr, from the media production, Flamboyant Damsel Films, commonly known as Flamboyant Films, and was directed by Ato Yanney Jnr, son of the late movie pioneer. ,

Ato Yankey Snr is writer and director of the epic war film His Majesty's Sergeant.

Old Simpson Series is a hilarious sitcom about an Oxford University graduate, who returns home to his native country (Ghana) from the United Kingdom, to work in the civil service.

He goes on pension, and is faced with the realities of harsh economic times. He thereby resorts to carpentry, specifically in the coffin making business, to make ends meet. He is helped by his one and only surviving son, Kobby, played by Dickson Williams in their chosen line of trade.

It sitcom features many Ghanaian youngsters playing major roles in the movies. Solomon Sampah played the major role of the Old Simpson, Dickson Williams, William Addo, Ricky Adelayitar, Diana Asante, Anthony "Trickish Man" Donkor and others played most important roles in the series.

Their workshop is patronized by people from all works of life, ranging from traders, family members, and clients etc, who come to discuss issues on social, political, religious etc, enabling viewers to identify themselves with the daily activities that transpire.

According to Ato Yanney Jnr, the main aim of the series is to help showcase the talents of young and brilliant actors and actresses who do not get the chance to make it to the Ghanaian movie market.

The series is sponsored by Special Ice Mineral Water, Charlottefield's International and Flamboyant Damsel Ltd.

The media crew of the Old Simpson Series, incorporates a made up artist, Romeo Kofi Senu, Video editor, Charles Afful Nyan, Derrick Abeka, Shaban Iddrissu and Margaret Sampson 3D artists, Eric Owusu, Mustapha Mohammed Isaac Larbi, Fauzia Mohammed, Matilda Antwi Baffour (PA's).
