Old video of Wendy Shay pops up amid speculations of label exit

On May 15, 2024, Ghanaian songstress Wendy Shay sparked speculation about her relationship with Rufftown Records after announcing her latest music video, 'Who Cares' will debut on her own channel, not the label's.

She deepened the rumours by deleting all Rufftown-related content from her social media, suggesting a possible rebranding or departure from the label after six years.

While fans await an official statement for clarification, a video has popped up on social media showing Wendy Shay discussing a potential offer from an American label and her standing with Rufftown Records.

In the video from an interview Wendy Shay had on Hitz FM in March 2024, she was asked about the label and she confirmed she had been in contact with them.

Wendy Shay also confirmed that her contract with Rufftown Records was about to expire, but she firmly stated that she had not left the label.

She, however, refused to share any news about her contract renewal or any future partnership, stating that they remain confidential between her and the record label.

"That's a matter to be discussed between Rufftown Records and me until further notice. Let's just keep it that way," she said.

"Whether it will be a partnership or whatever, it's up to us and up to me as an artiste. I decide which information I want to give out, so when the time is right," she said.
