Ada-Adaeze Onyinyechie Ayoka, a former radio presenter has observed that the inspiration behind the formation of feminist group Pepper Dem is nothing short of extreme bitterness.
In an interaction with Sammy Flex on Zylofon FM’s ‘Showbiz Agenda’, the former staff of Takoradi-based YFM suggested that it was awkward for women to form groups to rebel against men.
“They’re just bitter,” she said. “That’s the truth. If you’re not able to let go something that happened to you yesterday, you repackage it in the name of strength but not your weakness… There’s no way you can tell me that because you earn a coin one or two more than a man, he should go to hell.
“The main purpose of a woman’s existence, is for us to help men. I’m not saying we all have to get married. I’m saying that you need to learn to respect a man. If you don’t respect a man, you can’t respect God. It’s a principle. In the organogram, after God, it’s man.”
Ada further indicated that although members of the Pepper Dem Ministries roar openly, some secretly go for a big smooch from men – a posture she says nullifies the reasons for their purported existence.
She said: “Behind the scenes, there are some guys who are actually there for them. They go for cuddles. They go for sleepover. Have they been staying away from sex all this while? Don’t let men take you for granted; support them, be submissive but you can’t throw a man away.”
The Pepper Dem Ministries, formed in 2017, is popular for its radical views on the role of women in the home and in the workplace.
