Vybrant Faya, one of the newest dancehall artiste who is seen as the future of dancehall music in Ghana, has said the genre is the only one that is sure to put Ghana on the international scene.

“Dancehall music is not from Ghana but Ghanaians are really in love with it though it’s a Jamaican music. We Ghanaian artistes also love the vibes and that is why we are doing dancehall too, moreover dancehall is an International Genre.”

In an interview with Kwame B on Di Wu Lane Mu on Kasapa 102.3FM he said he was motivated by inspirational songs of the reggae legend Bob Marley.

“Songs from Bob Marley and other reggae artistes influenced me to do Dancehall music in Ghana. My style of music is rap and sing which is called ‘ragga’.”

Faya, a member of Shatta Movement Family is set to release his latest single titled ‘Budu Budu Budu’ which he said translates to a ‘A lady shaking her big boobs’.

He also revealed on the show that the name ‘Vybrant Faya’ was given to him by radio presenter, Mr. Logic.

“Mr. Logic after listening to my songs he told me considering the kind of energy and zeal I exert in my performances, it will be preferable to choose the name ‘Vybrant Faya’ which I accepted and that has brought me this far.”
