For the past years now, numerous rappers popped up into the Ghanaian music scene. From free styling to mix tapes, singles to albums and creative videos to suit their rap style. It can be boldly said that commercialism in rap music has set off to main stream as some rap musicians has been able to take it to higher heights.

Creativity, delivery, punch lines and well-constructed verses were the factors used to gather the top ten most rappers in Ghana and not their commercial in the music industry. Ladies and gentlemen we present to you the top 10 rappers in Ghana.

10. Joey B

I call him Ghana’s own Coolio. But honestly I don’t know what to say about Joey but all I can say is ‘’E.L chop, Reggie Sef talk who again sef mmm Deeba’’Lol. 9. Ghetto KB

He is one of the few artistes which in the coming years will take the rap game to the higher heights. K.B’s well-crafted lyrical verses are off the hook as he spits calculated punches in English. His add up into the rap game is just a perfect choice for the rap game in GH. K.B’s verses always catches fire on various media houses as he did on his songs ‘One Night Stand’ and ‘Bills On Me’. 8. Yaa Pono

Yaa Pono is a phenomenal rapper and a household name in Ghana music industry. He is highly rated by the young chaps for his lyrical dexterity. With not too many hit songs to his credit yet kills the crowd with freestyles with his funny punchlines. J Town make the track go bang! No wonder he was the second best freestyler in Africa. It only takes an intelligent and creative mind to step into a massive and tough competition like the ‘Sprite Emcee Freestyle’ and yet prove to Africans he is worth the nod. Call him ‘Make Tha Track Go Bang’ and definitely your speakers will be on constant fire as he spits his well matured calculated verses on a song. I call him the finest Hip-hop musician in Ghana. 6. Edem

Rapping in a native language (Ewe) and yet your message’s delivery gets to people who don’t understand the words but yet feels the delivery and creativity, then you are a genius. Edem’s rap style said it all in his single ‘Heyba’ as his energy level and delivery in his local dialect (Ewe) was a perfect match for the beat as it got people pausing the song and wish they understood the entirety of what the Ewe man was delivering. Officially he holds the current title for “most commercial rap artist”. His appearance in the game took rap to an unpredicted level as far as rap music is concerned in Ghana. His canny ability to coin catchy punching verses, funny lines and hooks makes him the undisputed commercial rap artiste in Ghana. Take it or leave it, it requires a genius to go back to his hard core rap as he did it on ‘illuminati’ and ‘Shots On Shots’ and yet still stand out as a commercial rapper. With his brand portraying the real African Hip hop, his uniqueness and creativity makes him the real manifestation of true brewed hip hop from Africa. His grammatical punch lines and ability to keep posing dope lines always put listeners on the other side of the song. ”Oh Yea, Life in a milky way doesn’t taste like baileys”. He is among the few rappers in Ghana who will take the rap music industry to the world. X.O Senavoe’s perfect delivery in English and Pidgen always keeps his crafty verses on the mind of the people. For his fans who are praying his commerciality in his music starts soon it will definitely come to past as Gemini is gradually embracing the commercial rap style in Ghana and Africa. His rap style is the perfect definition of Marshall Matters III (Eminem). He pours his anger on each beat anytime he is in the booth as if that is his last time in the studio. No one will argue with me when it comes to maintaining the same level of delivery on any kind of beat or song the name that pops up is E.L. His abilities of creating a well-crafted verses and punches automatically fit into any genre of song; Danceable, Hip-hop etc. E.L’s power lies in his crafted flawless lyrical content and truly every rap addict will say yes to this as E.L smashed out his lyrics on his song ‘The Chosen’.
