After the December 7 elections, most musicians like Criss Waddle, Medikal, and Manifest have all shared their frustrations with the Akufo-Addo administration.
Rex Omar, a veteran musician, has said these artistes and some Ghanaian citizens have started voicing out because there is an air of freedom blowing in the country.
“Since NPP lost, don’t you feel that there is an air of freedom that makes people express their views without being afraid for their lives?” he asked Amansan Krakye in an interview.
“Ghanaians said a lot of bad things about Mahama, and young people were insulting him anyhow, but he never victimized anyone or did anything.
“During Akufo-Addo’s tenure, it was completely different, so why wouldn’t people be afraid to express their opinion, and so many bad things happened?” he said.
“When you voice out, your job will collapse, and a lot of people have suffered, but they couldn’t say anything for fear of being brutalized,” he added.
