Osnabruck Youth Choir Performs In Ghana

World acclaimed German Group, the Osnabruck Youth Choir will take Ghanaians on a Choral Fiesta this August when the group is hosted by Winneba Youth Choir in a joint concert at the National Theatre on Sunday 15.

The choir has become one of the most recognized ensembles of its kind in Europe since they won the first German Choral Competition and a special prize from the City of Cologne for the best performance of a contemporary choral work in 1982.

The group which continues to win more national and international awards has visited many parts of the world as Germany?s Choral Ambassadors, often with the support of the German Musical Council.

The unique sound of the Osnabruck Youth Choir has been achieved through an innovative blend of its male and female voices in a manner that ensures greater independence and control of individual voices and the production of a stronger overall sound.

The group has established partnership with a number of choirs and orchestras all over the world resulting in the performance of many oratories of all epochs.

The Osnabruck Youth Choir was founded by Johannes Rahe who conducts the choir and a juror and an advisor for a number of national and international choir organizations. He is assisted by Stephen Kwesi Luterman, a Ghanaian, who as a boy sang in the choir and now plays the organ. The Osnabruck Youth Choir will be in Ghana for a week.
