Pastor Mensa Otabil’s ability to purchase the ranch is not in doubt. However, it again highlights the fact he is not only a man who does not show gratitude but also a hypocrite.

The crux of the matter and of this story is that Otabil purchased the ranch under an economy he likened to a “sinking ship. In 2013, he paid over $8,000 to the U.S government as tax for the property. This paper will soon publish other properties he has around the globe. How a man is able to earn so much in a “sinking ship” economy to purchase such an equestrian lifestyle property beats the imagination. Herein lies Otabil’s hypocrisy. What is more, he has proven over the years that “time erodes gratitude”.

Over the years, he has attacked Rawlings and successive NDC governments. Yet, he owes what he is today to Rawlings and successive NDC governments more than any to any individual or group; the site where the headquarters of his church is located was given to him by the Lands Department through the instrumentality of the then President Rawlings. Again, it was Rawlings who paved the way for Otabil and others to become televangelists, preaching on television, the medium through which he became a renowned motivational speaker, leading him to the wealth he has acquired today which includes a university (Central University) and a bank (First Capital Plus Bank)

Is it not a shame and a mark of hypocrisy that a man will be benefiting so much from an economy to the extent that he is able to buy a luxury ranch in the U.S. yet on the quiet be claiming that the economy is collapsing?
