Veteran Ghanaian actor Pattington Papa Nii Papafio has said the difference between the current crop of actors and actresses in the country and his era, is passion.
The actor, who was part of popular TV series Taxi Driver, was speaking in an interview with Benjamin Akakpo on the Executive Breakfast Show (EBS) on Friday, 22 May 2020.
He noted: “…We did it because we wanted to do it, so, the passion was great”, adding: “The passion was very very great”.
“That is what I can say is the difference.”
“These days”, he noted, “you don’t see people doing things with passion”.
“Maybe, people just see what people, others have done and they also want to join but not that they’ve sat down to have a deeper sense that: ‘I want to become an actor’, ‘I want to become a driver and nothing else’.”
Papa Nii, whose real name is Henry Harding, is noted for using big vocabulary on screen.
Apart from Taxi Driver, he also starred in other TV series such as Dada Boat, Hotel St. James and Home Sweet Home.
