The area pastor of the A.M.E. Zion Church in the Fosu District, Rev. Ato Mensah has been accused of having oral sex with a 15-year-old JSS One pupil in Winneba.
The boy (name withheld) attends A.M.E. Zion JSS, ?D? which is near the Winneba Hospital and also share the same premises with the Zion Church in Winneba.
According to investigations conducted by Peace FM, Rev. Ato Mensah who is currently attending pastors? conference being organised by A.M.E. Zion Church in A.M.E. Zion Church Winneba met the boy and told him he wants to be his friend.
According to the boy, Rev. Ato Mensah, took him to a urinal and took his manhood and licked it. On the third occasion, the boy said after the pastor has removed his manhood, he put it in his mouth and sucked it. The matter was reported to the Winneba Police and the pastor was arrested. However, the Headpastor of the A.M.E. Zion Church in Winneba together with three other senior pastors of the church went to the Winneba police and pleaded that the pastor be released for the to be settled at home and this was agreed upon.
The Winneba Police confirmed this when Peace FM together with the boy and his mother cross-checked the fact with the Winneba Police and the personnel on duty at the time Peace FM visited the place on Wednesday, 21st April, 2004 said, ?I thought you people have agreed to settle this matter amicably at home.?
The Headmaster of the A.M.E. Zion JSS ?D? also confirmed the case but said he hasn?t got much information about it but has instructed two of his teachers to investigate. The leadership of the A.M.E. Zion Church in Winneba declined to comment on the issue when Peace FM contacted them. The pastors according to the boy?s mother came to her and pleaded that she should not disclose the issue to anybody.
