Just two days after losing the 2016 general elections, President John Mahama and his family seemed to have started the journey towards life after the Flagstaff House.

On Sunday December 11, 2016, the first family, clad in all-white garments headed to the Ringway Assemblies of God Church in Accra and had their own thanksgiving service.

When it was time to dance in worship, the President and his family were joined by a very enthusiastic pastor, whose dance skills were quite entertaining, almost as if to cheer up President Mahama after his defeat.

While addressing the congregation, President Mahama may have given a small clue as to what he would or would not find himself doing after he handed over the government seat.

"I have no immediate plans, I haven’t taken a leave for three years so I will take a leave……Ghana is a great country," he said.

On December 9, 2016, Nana Akufo-Addo was declared the president-elect after the collation of votes from the 2016 general elections, beating President Mahama with a margin of 53.4%.
