One Corner’ hitmaker, Patapaa, seems to have not gotten over his long time beef with highlife singer Kuami Eugene.
A year ago, Kuami Eugene in an interview on an Accra based TV station said that he will never do a song with Patapaa and went on to describe the latter’s songs as characterized by noise.
Patapaa has said that he is pained an artiste like Kuame Eugene who has no career and potential in the hiplife genre attempted to cut his (Patapaa) music career short.
Speaking in an interview with Happy 98.9 FM’s DJ Advicer on the ‘Ayekoo After Drive’, the musician insisted that Kuami Eugene is not a highlife artiste “but just sings for the ladies”.
He noted that the highlife genre always carries a message in its songs which is something the music Kuami Eugene lacks. In his words, “The only highlife artistes I know are Akwaboah and Kofi Kinataa the rest are gari.”
Patapaa who is obviously still hurt by the unsavoury comments made about him by Kuami Eugene decribed him (Eugene) as the devil. “God blessed him with ‘Angela’ and I with ‘One Corner’ and yet he wanted me to lose my daily bread. Anyone who behaves the way Kuami Eugene did is your Lucifer.”
Justice Amoah (Patapaa) who expected Kuami Eugene to be supportive of his career back then says he will never forgive Eugene for what he said about him.
