Ghanaian rapper Kwaw Kesse has descended on his fellow artistes for sponsoring fans to vote for them during VGMAs and other award events.

Kwaw Kesse in an exclusive interview with Fiifi Pratt on Highlife Paradise on Rainbow Radio 87.5, said artistes should allow fans to willingly vote from their hearts instead of sponsoring them to vote for them.

According to him, musicians in Ghana must stop buying credit for their fans to vote for them.

Kwaw Kesse added that it will be senseless for him to sponsor his fans to vote during an award show.

"All the awards in Ghana are of no value they are just plaques", he suggested.

He further advised upcoming musicians to concentrate on their career and stop depending on awards to stay relevant.

He lamented it has been an acceptable norm for people to use awards to evaluate musicians.

He said the fact that a musician does not win an award does not make him a bad artiste.

He also admonished his colleagues not to place too much value on the plaques they are presented with during award ceremonies because they have no value.

He is, therefore, leading a campaign to impress upon organizers of VGMA to make the scheme great again because the scheme to him has lost it glory.
