With tensions rising and political party hopefuls desperate for political power ahead of the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections the message of peace is needed now than ever.

Peace is a priceless commodity, an inheritance that cannot be quantified. It must be a basic right of every individual. We cannot develop as a people without prioritizing peace. Every generation must treasure and protect it.

Posterity will judge us if we fail to hand over, a nation whose kids can harness and develop their skills and talents, achieve their aspirations and live their true purpose by adding to society, a nation whose men and women can do business and prosper in an environment that safeguards their sweat and investments, a nation that welcome it's visitors and neighbours in an environment of peace and tranquillity, a nation where peace is not a wishful thought and endless petition to deities.

Our forefathers fought and severed their lives, some to the point of death spilling blood to safeguard the peace we enjoy now.

Today, there is however no need to shed blood again but we must shun evil sentiments, bitterness, needless anger, acrimonies divisive mindset, hatred, antipathy etc. which have the audacity to nullify the peace we have inherited.

We must exercise our rights to peace not to the detriment of others.

Our expectations us ordinary citizens this elections is much more higher than that of our politicians who might have spent huge sums of money, time, efforts to brail strange weathers, driving throughout the nights, meeting all manner of people etc. in campaigns to canvass for political power. We anticipate an election devoid of violence and controversies, a peaceful process that adds to the successes we have add in the past.

We expect every legitimate voter to go to the polls and cast their vote and leave the voting premises until counting. We must cooperate with security forces to maintain law and order at the polling stations.

Politicians must campaign against violence by deeds and speech and expose deviance. They must endeavor to lead by example and encourage their faithful's to emulate them.

They must understand the logic that, they will have no one to lead and to serve in a nation they have failed to seek its peace.

Our security forces must stop at nothing to maintain law and order They must remain neutral just as their civic responsibility expects of them.

The Electoral Commission must be neutrally courageous in exercising and applying the constitutional instrument that enjoin them to facilitate a free and fair elections that will leave no room for doubt in the minds of Ghanaians.

To achieve these objectives, PEACE REVOLUTION GHANA, in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service and various youth groups across the country are demonstrating their love for peace with a peace walk, a symposium and a musical concert on the 3rd of December 2016.

The walk will start from the Elwak sports stadium at 7am and ends at the forecourt of the Ghana Trade Fair Center, Labadi.

This event is expected to pull together about 50,000 people and will bring together politicians, celebrities, footballers, musicians actors and actresses etc. on one platform to add their voice to the peace campaign.

We invite all partners and stakeholders to joins us as we celebrate peace.
