Most of the female reproductive organs have fixed sizes.
Example: the vagina, uterus (womb), cervix (lower end of the uterus), the ovaries and the fallopian tubes.
But the breast which is an accessory reproductive organ differs in sizes from one female to the other based on factors such as age, genetic make-up, body size and other factors (Fraser D.M & Cooper M.A (2009).
During a radio presentation on breast cancer, one of the listeners called and asked why some women have flat breast like a fried egg?
Most women feel worried and embarrassed about the nature of their breast especially those with smaller sized breast.
Interestingly, the size or shape of the breast (whether small, big, long, short, flat etc.) does not affect breastfeeding which is one of the major reasons why God provided it.
Research has shown that most women try to do a lot of therapies in other to get a bigger breast size to attract men and to boost their self-esteem.
According to American Society of Plastic surgeons (2016), there were about 99,614 breast lift and 279,143 breast augmentation procedures performed in the United States in the year 2015.
Some men even opt for surgeries to make their breast appear like that of a woman. Amazingly, no matter how big the size of a man’s breast, it can never produce breast milk.
Upon my inquiries, most women think that they might not get husbands because they have small breast. But remember, any responsible man who has the intention of marriage will not focus much on the outward appearance (breast size) but what is permanent (your character) since the size and position of the breast changes as you age (becomes flabby and falls at menopause due to the decline in female sex hormones: estrogen and progesterone).
Is it not possible that there are women with big breast struggling to get husbands but some small breast women are enjoying marriage? Obeying God and putting your trust in Him that He will give you husband is what single ladies should think of but not the size of their breast which they do not have control of.
The God who created females with different sizes of breast will definitely provide responsible husbands for anyone who put their trust in Him. Researchers are even showing that small breast is more sensitive than larger ones. In a study conducted at the University of Vienna, researchers found that large breasts were about 24 percent less sensitive than small ones.
Alan Matarasso, M.D., a plastic surgeon in New York City said the reason could probably be due to the fact that in females with large breast, the nerve transmitting sensation from the nipple is stretched. And hence smaller could be said to enhance sexual life more than bigger breast because of its sensitivity.
God, our Creator does not look at our physical appearance (how big the breast size, hips, thighs buttocks, long hair, facial beauty etc) but the impact we can make on others. No matter how big or small your body size is, you can still glorify the Lord with your body.
The Bible says “What is man that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visited him. For thou has made him a little lower than angels and has crowned him in glory and honor” (Psalm 8:4-5). You were created in the image of God. You are very unique, that is why nobody has the same physical features as yours.
Have you also pondered over the fact that this body we see that makes some of us proud and arrogant is just dust? When our first parents disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden, He said “In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread till thou return unto the ground, for out of it was thou taken; for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return”(Gen 3:19). The body we are boasting about will return to the earth someday when the breath of life is taken away by God.
I never understood this very well till the day I went to the mortuary during my clinical rotation when everyone was lying naked and lifeless on the floor, whether rich, poor, beautiful, ugly, small or big.
Only those that fear the Lord will acquire incorruptible body and live again forever with Christ after the first resurrection. There is an Akan adage which says “all fingers are not equal.” Let us, therefore, be content with how God created us and glorify Him with our whole being.
Men; lets appreciate our women the way they are made and stop using any abusive words on women, for it can affect them negatively.
