Petrol Rationing (0)

For the past three weeks, there has been unannounced petroleum products rationing which has taken the form of alternating sales between petrol and diesel.

This is as a result of the Government's indecision as to whether to increase fuel prices or not in this election year in the light of the rising world crude oil prices and the faster than programmed depreciation of the cedi against the major world currencies

The Government's way of "letting the cup pass it by" is to accelerate the proposed deregulation of the petroleum sector in order to pass any responsibility for petroleum price increases on to the Oil Marketing Companies instead of the Government itself
