As the X-Factor Audition train zooms into Kumasi, Ghana on Saturday, scores of contestants who trooped out to contest on the platform have commended Glo for regularly initiating people oriented programmes that offer unlimited platforms for turning dreams into reality.
The contestants who thronged the Golden Tulip Hotel venue of the X-Factor Audition held in Ghana’s second largest city of Kumasi implored the telecommunication giant not to relent in bringing joy to the people wherever it is operating as they tried to outperform each other to progress to the next round. The star prize for X-Factor is $150,000 and Sony music recording contract the highest in the category.
They noted that Glo had become a household name in Ghana because of the strategic support for the Black Stars, the Ghana Premier League, the Supporters Club and its pocket friendly rates backed by excellent service on the network.
Some of the participants included 49 year-old George Danzoma from Tamale who described the audition as unique because of the professional tips offered by the selectors and the four tiers of the audition which he said calmed his nerves and brought out the best in him.
Also speaking, Miss Audrey Mikass, a medical student from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology said, “Glo is cool. It has given a boost to my singing career and whether I am selected or not, I would soon release an album”.
For Chelsea Frimpong, a 16 year old, Year Eleven Arts student of International Community School, Kumasi, the X-Factor Audition is a dream come true, “I never thought I would ever participate in X-Factor which had been my favorite programme for the past two years. I really thank Glo for making this possible”, she enthused.
Commenting on the Audition, Glo X-Factor’s Music Director, Carl Raccah expressed satisfaction with the level of performance of the contestants, especially the groups that auditioned and enjoined the contestants to relax so as to give their best and not miss musical notes.
Giving insights into the programme, the Line Producer, Abigail Clark said X-Factor singing television reality show was different from all others because in the course of the programme the judges would transform into mentors who would stake their reputations for the three contestants each of the three judges would select for the live performance stage.
Meanwhile, the X-Factor Audition train would move to Accra next weekend where talented contestants would be screened at the Alisa Hotel, North Ridge.
