Abena Safoa Gyimah of Sa4a Designs, over the weekend thrilled guests, among them Ghana’s former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel for the 2013 edition of Citi FM’s ‘Expressions of Accra’ with fashion impressions that will last them a life time.
With this year’s theme revolving round “Creative Explosion”, the highlight was based on originality, explosive creativity, and imagination; Sa4a Designs did not disappoint as she wowed the audience.
Her concept for this year’s event was out of the use of patchwork technique in a unique way, taking the print-on-print trend and putting it all in one place as a covering. On the night, the range of designs she showcased consisted of shoes and sandals, bags and clutches.
It will be recalled that Sa4a Designs enjoyed a blistering 2012, winning Best Accessories Designer of the Year (Bags, Shoes & Hair Option) at the Ghana Fashion Awards 2012 and Chivas Luxury Man Design of that Year at the Glitz Fashion Week 2012.
The ‘Expressions of Accra’ also saw different designers such as: AfroMod Trends, Elikem Kumordzie the Tailor, Ameyo, Maksi Clothing, Horseman Shoes and a guest designer from Zimbabwe, Pokello Nare.
The night was full of laughter from comedian Bash who flew in from Nigeria and live band music from Keche, Patch Bay Band and K.K. Fosu. Nana Assase also produced poetry to the audience.
‘Expressions of Accra’ which is in its second year, is a fashion show which seeks to capture the trends and exciting stories of Accra’s urban fashion.
This year’s event was sponsored by GTP, HFC Bank, Airtel and Sleek cosmetics.
